The current number
The number opens with a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation to the Director of the Institute of Latin America in connection with the 55th anniversary of this institution. In the letter is highlighted the fruitful cooperation of the institute with the ministry, which uses in its work the scientific research of the institute. Further it’s published an article of the Director of the Institute Vladimir Davydov in which are considered the key issues of the modern development of Latin American countries, leading the reader to the conclusion that these countries are no longer objects and increasingly act as subjects of the international relations. The article of Heifetz subjected to a thorough analysis the internal political situation in Latin America, predicting the possible shift to the right in a number of countries and remarking at the same time the heterogeneity of right-wing forces and the progressive character in a series of positions of the new right. Interesting is the article of Victor Semenov, that, thanks to the cited tables, determine the growing role of the Latin American countries in the process of global innovation. The former ambassador of Ecuador in the Russian Federation, currently Coordinating Minister Patricio Chavez Zavala analyzes the socio-political development of Ecuador in the last 30 years, establishing a parallel between the presidential regime of Jaime Roldós and Rafael Correa, which marked the end of political instability in the country. At the end of the number it’s published an article of the graduate student Yana Strashko in which is examined the role of Latin America and the Hispanic community in the electoral campaign in the United States.
