This issue opens with the paper “Latin American policy of Donald Trump” by Vladimir P. Sudarev where the author regards the future of Washington’s policy in the region and its strategic focus and intends to give answers to such pressing questions as: in what direction will the integration process develop in this area of the world? What role the United States can play in it, when the leaders of MERCOSUR – Brazil and Argentina have agreed on a joint position on economic association with the European Union?

The article by Boris F. Martynov and Víctor Hugo Ramirez Lavalle concerns the most relevant issue of today: the information and cybernetic security. The authors consider that the freedom of speech is increasingly used to by-pass the truth with evident political ends, what spoils the international atmosphere, leading mankind to a new Cold War. It`s high time for Russia to propose some new active information style and strategy, attractive for the majority of the mankind.

In the paper “Latin America in the context of the formation of a new system of international relations”, Yury N. Sayamov points out the growing role of this region in the international affairs. The Latin America is considered a real power for the change of the world on principles of its multipolarity to attain the sustainable development and he realization of necessary social transformations in order to turn into reality the hopes of the people across the Latin American continent.

The block of four articles deals with the migration issues. In the paper “Migrant caravan: regional migration regulation system crisis”, Nadezhda Yu. Kudeyarova analyses a range of problems around the migrant caravan from the Central American countries towards the USA. Two opposite approaches for arrangement of the migration crises are considered, particularly, the Mexican policy within the program "You are at home" (Estás en tu casa”) and the US administration’s tough rhetoric intended to prevent illegal migrants to the US territory. The author also notes that Mexico’s role as Central American migrant path to the United States intermediate buffer has been transformed.

Irina M. Vershinina in her article “Honduras: socio-economic problems as a cause of emigration” regards the government’s economic activities and concludes that the migration is closely connected with the nature of the country's development and represents a kind of response of the population to the consequences of the economic policy promoted by the establishment and to the deterioration of the internal political situation.

Svetlana A. Tatunts and Otari I. Аrshba in the paper “Latin American communities in the stratification system of the US society in the XXI century” offer a theoretical rethinking of the methodological foundations of research on the problems of social inequality, migration and the factor of ethnic identity in multi-ethnic societies on the example of the United States. An analysis of the role of Latin American communities in the ethno-social stratification system of the USA is provided with a strong evidence base. Both objective and subjective reasons for the vulnerability of these communities.

The last article of this block is called “Accumulation through territorial capture. Case Peru and Mexico”. Mexican sociologist J. Kenny Acuña Villavicencio shows that situation of territorial  dispossession of the indigenous communities by the large national and transnational corporations since the neoliberal state, has caused impoverishment of the majority of rural population and intensified the migration process.

The last article in this issue is headed “The Demographic Transition in Spain in the 20th and 21st Centuries: Transforming the Family and Marriage Institution”. The author Elizaveta A. Mosakova intends to identify the place and role of the family and marriage institution at different stages of the Spain’s demographic development. The author comes to the conclusion that Spain is currently witnessing the lowest levels of nuptiality and fertility simultaneously with one of the highest divorce rates across Europe. Today, the Spaniards are choosing cohabilitation over marriage, postponing parenthood for advanced age.
