The issue presented to the reader's judgment includes three blocks. The first of them is devoted to the problems of geopolitics and geoeconomics. The article by Petr P. Yakovlev includes a comparative analysis of the US policy in Latin America under Presidents Donald Trump and Joseph Biden, with special attention paid to the decisive actions of D. Trump at the beginning of his second mandate. Emiliano López Obrador Garrido examines the problems and challenges facing Mexico after the change of administration in the United States. Tatiana A. Vorotnikova examines the key factors and prospects for interaction between Latin American countries and extra-regional partners within the Global South through the prism of the extension of the BRICS, and Rudy A. Gómez del Cid reveals the principles and mechanisms that determine trade and economic cooperation between countries with different levels of development using the example of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

The second block is devoted to the role and place of Brazil in the modern world. The article by Evgeny A. Ponomarev provides an analysis of Brazil's foreign policy during the first half of Luiz Inásio Lula da Silva's current mandate, as well as the priorities of foreign policy and the approaches of Brazilian diplomacy to the international political crises of our time. Irina A. Strelnikova studied the possibilities and prospects for cooperation between Brazil and Russia in the Arctic, and Tatyana K. Blokhina, Irina N. Myslyaeva and Muslim R. Akhmedov – new priorities of the Brazilian space program. Finally, Julia A. Timofeeva and Ksenia Y. Walther (Budykina) consider Brazil's program to create a nuclear submarine and the difficulties that arise in the path of its implementation in the context of the nuclear non-proliferation regime.

The third block analyzes legal problems related first of all to the rights of the indigenous population. Víctor Jácome Calvache, Gabriela Medina Garcés, and Tatiana Pérez Valencia offer key principles for constructing anthropological expertise in Ecuador and illustrate their applicability in practice, while Iván Vargas-Chaves, Alexandra Cumbe-Figueroa, and Diana Marulanda explore the rights of nature in Bolivia within the framework of epistemic emancipation in the Global South.
